Olivia is a Senior Technical Specialist working across our Green Economies & Infrastructure portfolio and Monitoring, Evaluating and Learning (MEL) portfolio. In this role she provides gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) technical assistance, research and MEL inputs across a wide variety of GEDSI topics, specialising in climate justice and women’s economic justice.

Olivia has worked on a range of programmes, studies, Helpdesks and evaluations, such as the Climate, Environment and Nature (CLEAN) Helpdesk, the Work and Opportunities for Women (WOW) Helpdesk, a climate change study for the Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) in India and a gender-related evaluation for the UNICEF Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office. She holds specialist knowledge in the emerging GEDSI and carbon markets space, authoring several key publications such as the first ever major report on the integration of a gender lens in the Voluntary Carbon Market, practical guidance for carbon project developers on integrating gender into the design, implementation and monitoring of carbon credit projects, and practical guidance for multi-national companies on how to decarbonise their Scope 3 carbon emissions with a gender lens.

Olivia is currently the Chair of SDDirect’s Eco-Committee Working Group at SDDirect, leading on the company’s measurement of carbon emissions and Net Zero commitments.

Olivia has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Manchester and a Master’s degree with distinction in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex.
