Nanette joined Social Development Direct in May 2023 as the Deputy Team Leader for Resource and Support Hub, working closely with the Team Leader and Programme Manager to facilitate the delivery of the programme.
She brings over 12 years of experience in the sector, with many of those spent managing operations in private sector international development consultancies and working on behalf of DFID and the Stabilisation Unit in the Conflict Humanitarian and Security Department Team (CHASE OT). Her experience covers projects in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Ghana, Ethiopia, Nigeria and supporting the Ebola response in Sierra Leone. Nanette has held various roles in operations, compliance, strategy and more recently with INGO country offices and their partners, to strengthen safeguarding policies and procedures.

There she took part in a research study on the impact of decentralisation in maternal health care in rural Uganda which ignited her passion in supporting the health and well-being of mothers and babies. Nanette has since trained as a neonatal peer, and volunteers at her local hospital to support parents with sick and/or premature babies in the neonatal unit.
Outside of work, Nanette enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, and enjoying different cuisines.
