Karla rejoined our Business Development team in September 2024. Previously, between 2014 and 2018, she contributed to the growth of SDDirect through notable successful contract awards.
Karla brings over 14 years’ experience in business development and a track record of securing seven figure income through proposals, often in consortia, with the private sector and NGOs. Most recently Karla was at Action Against Hunger UK, and before that at ActionAid UK where she led the coordination of high-quality grant proposals and selected commercial tenders across a range of thematic areas, including girls’ education and violence against women and girls.
Over the course of her career, she has worked on proposals for donors, including FCDO/DFID, EU, UN, Dutch Government, World Bank, USAID, AfDB, Gates Foundation, AmplifyChange and Comic Relief. Karla enjoys traveling, and even trained as a safari guide.
