Inez joined SDDirect’s technical team in May 2022 and is a Senior Technical Specialist in the Safeguarding Portfolio.
Inez brings in technical expertise in safeguarding and protection from sexual exploitation, abuse and sexual harassment (PSEAH). She has experience in leading complex, multidisciplinary projects and demonstrated understanding of the complexities of protection from sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment at an organisational and operational level, including awareness of gender, culture, policy and systems in effective prevention and protection.
Inez has extensive experience working with local and international NGOs, humanitarian aid organisations and development agencies. Most recently, Inez supported the development and delivery of the GBVH Training for Development Finance Institution clients, co-authored the Technical Guidance Note on Child Safeguarding for Private Sector and designed and delivered safeguarding training for multiple clients. She acted in the capacity of the Regional Hub Manager for the Safeguarding Resource and Support Hub for Eastern Europe, where she was responsible for developing research and practical resources on PSEAH and safeguarding, LGBTQI+ inclusive safeguarding and safe recruitment. She also oversaw contextualisation of training and provided quality assurance of safeguarding tools and resources.
Prior to joining SDD, she supported multiple projects within the humanitarian and development sector, such as the Misconduct Disclosure Scheme, the InterAction’s Gender-Based Violence Prevention Evaluation Framework and the Independent Commission on Sexual Misconduct, Accountability and Culture Change at Oxfam.
