Amy Oyekunle is the National Safeguarding Lead on the Partnership for Learning for All (PLANE) project. She is a gender and development professional with over 15 years experience in non-governmental organisation (NGO) management, gender-based violence, adolescent girls’ programmes, feminist and gender research, women, peace and security, and community mobilisation within Nigeria. She founded the Monii Development Consult (MDC), a research development and project management organisation focused on providing short- and long-term technical assistance to development programmes in Nigeria. As an independent consultant, Amy has worked for international and national organisations, including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UN Women, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, International Alert, Save the children, the British Council, WaterAid, and Sahel Consulting and Nutrition and the Global Fund for Children.
An ardent advocate for gender equality and social justice, Amy is a member of the Nigerian Feminist Forum (NFF) and Zonta International Club of Lagos 1, Nigeria. Amy has a Masters degree (MA) in development studies from the University of Leeds, UK, a postgraduate diploma in management from the Leeds Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Science in sociology from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
