Serena joined the Business Development team at SDDirect in September 2018. In her capacity as Business Development Manager, she works on new opportunities across the company’s portfolios of work, supporting the production of pre-qualification responses and technical and commercial proposals. Serena regularly engages with new clients, partners and consultants, fostering new partnerships and collaboration.
Prior to joining SDDirect, Serena was based in Kenya, where she worked with a Nairobi-based NGO focusing on child protection, mental health and gender-based violence. In Nairobi, she also spent some time conducting primary research as part of her Masters dissertation looking at the women, peace and security agenda and the involvement of women in peacebuilding in the Horn of Africa region. Prior to this Serena worked with the Italian National Committee of UN WOMEN.
Serena holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy and a Masters Degree in Human Rights, Migration and Development.
